Maria F. Wiltse is the Program Coordinator for the Purdue Center for Regional Development (PCRD). Maria coordinates all aspects of the Hometown Collaboration Initiative, a community development program in partnership with the Purdue Extension Community Program, Ball State University’s Indiana Communities Institute and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).

Prior to her work at PCRD, Maria worked as a program coordinator for the Learning Network of Clinton County’s English Literacy Civics program - a state program designed to help adult community members acquire their English language skills and obtain United States civics knowledge. Her position included programming facilitation and data evaluator.

Maria holds a Master’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. She is a Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer for Sunshine in a Backpack (SUNIAB), a social enterprise that offers an innovative systematic alternative to conventional or traditional mentoring relationships and programs through promoting cross-generational learning, innovating mentoring development and equipping the next generation of leaders. Maria is passionate about community networking, empowering community assets, innovation and leadership.
