ED:Q&A@Purdue is a professional development tele-seminar offered by the Purdue Center for Regional Development and Purdue Extension for local and regional economic development professionals, civic leaders, and others interested in how communities and regions can support sustainable economic growth. ED:Q&A@Purdue features Purdue faculty and specialists discussing topics like strategy, innovation, and leadership as well as industry trends in manufacturing, agribusiness, life sciences, IT, and other important sectors of our economy. ED:Q&A@Purdue is offered six times each year.

This ED:Q&A@Purdue tele-seminar, was recorded on Tuesday, February 24, 2014, and featured Jonathon Day, Professor of Hospitality and Tourism Management with specific expertise in marketing and branding communities and regions. Jonathon discussed branding as an economic development strategy and shared his thoughts on specific topics like how branding a community or region is similar and different than branding a product, like a smart phone or soft drink and the dynamics of having two brands - one for those are already in the community/region and those who you hope to attract.
