Wabash Heartland Innovation Network
The Wabash Heartland Innovation Network (WHIN) was officially launched in late December 2017, receiving a $38.9 million, five-year grant from Lilly Endowment. Because of the strength of WHIN’s star industry clusters and its proximity to Purdue University, this region has the unique opportunity to become the global epicenter for digital agriculture and next-generation manufacturing empowered by the Internet of Things (IoT). PCRD’s role in this project has been to provide demographics and statistical information on the ten counties WHIN encompasses (Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Pulaski and Tippecanoe) and to assess/evaluate the success of the overall project.
