Myers Named New Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center Director

Beginning November 2, Jon Myers starts his new position as Regional Director of the Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center (Southeast ISBDC). Since first joining the Southeast ISBDC team in 2016 as a Business Advisor, and then becoming the Interim Director, Myers has been an essential asset with his personal experience being a small business owner as well as having a master’s degree in Management and Organizational Leadership.

As Purdue University is one of the Southeast ISBDC’s regional hosts, both organizations work together to ensure small Indiana businesses have the resources and knowledge they need to succeed through a combination of technical assistance and training.

Serving Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Scott, Jackson, Jennings, Bartholomew, Jefferson, Ripley, Dearborn, Decatur, Ohio, Switzerland, and Franklin counties, the Southeast ISBDC has helped small local businesses with market research, export assistance, business planning, valuation, and strategy.

Myers is excited to continue to work as the official director and shares his aspiration, “Our goal at Southeast ISBDC is to help small business owners see the big picture, assist with a strategic plan, and reach their business and personal goals. Of course, we also assist start-up businesses with business planning, market research, and guidance with both the financial and operational aspects of their future business.”

Just as he has done for the last four years, Myers will continue to strive to better small businesses in Southeast Indiana. In Myers’s words, “We are often called Indiana’s ‘best kept secret.’ I intend to change that and make sure the communities we serve are connected with us, and that we can work together to help small businesses start and grow.”
