Be Part of PCRD’s Next Giant Leap on Purdue Day of Giving

April 13, 2023

Countdown to Purdue’s Day of Giving

Every April, Purdue University conducts its “Day of Giving.” For 24 hours, Purdue units reach out to their stakeholders and ask them to help our organization take its next giant leap. This year is not the exception. The Purdue Center for Regional Development (PCRD)—which is part of Purdue’s Office of Engagement—is asking once more from you, its stakeholders, to contribute whatever you can and want so that our center can continue to work with you so that you can take the next giant leap.

PCRD’s mission is to collaborate with people to listen, identify, and enhance assets unique to their story resulting in prosperity and quality of life. At the end of the day, we want PCRD to be a leader in innovative and adaptive partnerships empowering regions to find solutions for equitable, sustainable, and resilient development.

Ok, so what does this mean to you?

We can take data relevant to your community or region, create visualizations, and provide insights to help inform community leaders and residents. This includes developing innovative metrics ourselves, looking at state and federal datasets, conducting surveys and focus groups, or simply listening.

We can also help by facilitating and providing technical assistance when drafting community or economic development plans. PCRD, in partnership with Extension and other units within Purdue, also offers certificates and programs ranging from remote work to reframing job postings around skills rather than degrees to helping “mom and pop” businesses improve their online presence.

At the end of the day PCRD and the Office of Engagement want to ensure that Purdue’s University research, brain trust, and expertise benefits our communities and regions while also listening to your needs and involving students when possible.

Some of this critical work would not be possible without smart and energetic students. For this reason, your contributions will help us fund these students for longer periods of time and maybe even more of them as they support our work on projects relevant to you and your communities.

So, if you want to help on April 26, 2023, please go to and use the “Make a Gift” button to donate. On the “Make a Gift” page, you will need to select “Office of Engagement” when asked to choose a unit and then “Purdue Center for Regional Development” when asked to choose a fund. Or, you can make a gift by phone on April 26 at 1-800-319-2199.

We appreciate you allowing us to work with you and are very excited to continue fulfilling our engagement mission.
